Faulty Building Conditions
The large warehouses that house big box stores are typically enormous, cluttered and stacked to the ceiling with goods. You could almost get lost in the store without a map to find the exit. The size of these warehouses is an aspect that helps the company sell more, but invites a fire trap for shoppers. These retailers make their money on volume, having considerably narrowed the profit margin between production costs and selling price. The overstocked shelves and crowded aisles, however, create a serious safety hazard. A box that falls off a 10-foot high shelf can result in serious head or spinal cord injuries and items strewn across your path are trip hazards.
